Can I be exempted from these courses? ING coded courses are courses aiming to improve the student's English language and expression skills in programs where the medium of instruction is 100% English. They are provided by the School of Foreign Languages (SFL). For details such as prerequisites, exemptions, and passing grades, you can visit www.ydyo.hacettepe.edu.tr.
6) What are the compulsory courses?
These are the courses designated with 'Z' (Compulsory) in the Business Administration undergraduate curriculum.
7) What do departmental and non-departmental elective courses mean?
a) Departmental elective courses are courses that the student selects from certain courses or course groups recommended for graduation in the enrolled program. They are designated with 'S' (Elective) in the Business Administration undergraduate curriculum. Quotas for departmental elective courses may be limited. The quota of the elective course you want to take may act full during the registration and add-drop period. In this case, you can take another elective course. However, if there is a mandatory situation such as course clash or inability to graduate, you can apply to your advisor.

b) Non-departmental elective courses are courses that are not in the enrolled program but are opened by different academic units. For non-departmental elective courses to count towards graduation credits, the medium of instruction of the course must be English or another foreign language. For detailed information and announcements regarding non-departmental elective courses, you can visit //www.secmeli.hacettepe.edu.tr/.
8) How many ECTS credits do I need to complete to graduate?
To graduate from the Department of Business Administration, students must earn a total of 240 ECTS credits, consisting of 160 ECTS credits from compulsory courses and 80 ECTS credits from elective courses (maximum 10 ECTS credits of elective courses can be from non-departmental electives). If the student does not want to take non-departmental credits, they can complete these 10 ECTS (regardless of 3rd or 4th year) from within the department.
9) How can I take courses from other universities?
A student who wishes to take courses from other universities applies to their department with a request for equivalence before the semester begins. The relevant board decides on the equivalence of any course. The grades of the courses taken with the decision of the relevant administrative board are processed into the transcript until the end of the course registration renewal days of the next semester.
10) Is attendance compulsory in the department?
Attendance to courses and applications is compulsory. A student who does not attend more than 30% of the theoretical hours, including excuses, is not taken to the final and make-up exams of that course. The list of those who have not qualified to take the exam due to absenteeism is announced by the instructor responsible for the relevant course before the general exam period. If the attendance condition has been fulfilled in previous semesters in repeated theoretical courses, attendance is not required.
11) What should be the effect of the final exam (General exam) on the success grade?
The effect of the general exam on the course success grade can be at least 40% and at most 60%. The effects of in-semester success and general exam on the course success grade and the minimum grade required in the general exam for the student to be considered successful, along with the course implementation plan, are announced to the students by the responsible instructor at the beginning of the semester.
12) Is the grade I get from the make-up exam evaluated together with my in-term grades?
Make-up exam results are evaluated together with the student's in-semester success.

A student can repeat a failed elective course in any semester the course is opened. A student who does not want to take this elective course again has the right to withdraw from the course. A withdrawn elective course cannot be reloaded, but it continues to appear on the transcript. A student can withdraw from a maximum of three elective courses during their education. Students in graduation status who have used their withdrawal rights and have a failed elective course can take another elective course instead of the failed elective course with the decision of the relevant administrative board. The student can benefit from this right once. If, despite using their withdrawal rights, the number of failed elective courses is more than one and these courses have not been opened within the last two semesters, these failed elective courses can be deleted from graduation status students with the decision of the relevant administrative board.
15) Under what conditions can I retake courses I succeeded in to raise my GPA?
Students can repeat courses they have previously taken and succeeded in (excluding A1 and A2 grades) to raise their cumulative grade point average. The last grade received is valid for repeated courses.

Students who have at most three failed courses remaining for graduation by fulfilling the attendance requirement until the end of the maximum education period can take the three-course exam. Students who cannot graduate due to their GPA being below 2.00 even though they have succeeded in all courses of the enrolled program can also take a three-course exam from at most three courses they wish. Students who want to benefit from these exams apply to their academic units (The relevant petition is on the FEAS website and should be sent to the advisor after being filled out on the computer by the student. The student must fill out the petition completely (Name-surname, student number, and the last grade and semester of the relevant course). If the last grade of the course is "20XX-20XX Fall-Spring Make-up" Exam Grade, this term should be written clearly) to use these rights.
