About The Program
Hacettepe University Department of Business Administration has been offering a Ph.D. program since 1974. Our Ph.D. program offers theoretical and applied courses covering all disciplines of business administration. The program provides students the opportunity to conduct scientific research and to engage in academic studies.
The PhD program aims to develop the research, analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills of the students to the highest level. For this reason, the program provides core and elective courses in a wide variety of quantitative and qualitative research methods, and Ph.D. students work closely with their supervisors to define their research questions and develop their thesis. Besides, students have opportunities to attend academic conferences, and seminars, and to make presentations.
The program each year welcomes a select group of exceptional students. Our Ph.D. students bring a readiness to commit to the most diligent, rewarding, and challenging experience of their academic careers.

Program Structure
Our PhD program is structured as follows:

Phase 1: Students who are enrolled in the Ph.D. programme are required to take core courses included “Organization and Managerial Behavior, Financial Theories, Research Methods I, Seminar, Marketing Strategy Management, Strategic Planning and Management, and Mathematical Programming and specialist courses, available from a choice of topics relevant to the area of interest within the two academic years.

Phase 2: Students who have completed the courses in the programme enter the Ph.D. Qualifying Examination.

Phase 3: Following successfully passing the Ph.D. Qualifying Examination, students have to prepare a doctorate thesis under the supervision of an advisor. The students must have published a research paper in a journal, which is indexed by SSCI, SCI, SCI-Expanded, AHCI, or ULAKBIM-TR journal lists, during their PhD education before submitting their thesis.
